Packing for Whananaki

Firstly, if you forget anything - don’t sweat!  The Whananaki General Store is right next to Whananaki Holiday Park and they have everything you could possibly need while camping.

 

Depending on whether you’re camping or staying in a cabin or motel, here’s our suggested packing list!

Camping Equipment

  • Tent

  • Tent pegs (you'd be amazed how many people forget this!)

  • Sleeping mat

  • Hammer / mallet for banging in tent pegs

  • Ground sheet

Personal Gear

  • Sleeping bag

  • Linen (if sleeping in a cabin where linen is not provided)

  • First aid kit

  • Torch and spare batteries

  • Radio

  • Rubbish bag 

  • Booking confirmation email

  • Pillow

  • Camping chairs

  • Camping table

  • Solar charger / powerbank for electronic devices

  • Umbrella

  • Extra blanket

  • Toiletries

  • Insect repellent, sunscreen, antihistamine for allergy to wasp stings

  • Hand sanitiser or soap

  • Cooking equipment and food

  • Drink bottle

  • Matches or lighter

  • Gas cooker and fuel (we have a full kitchen, but you are welcome to bring your own gas cooker) 

  • Eating and cooking utensils

  • Chilli-bin

Clothing

  • Togs and casual wear

  • Warm mid-layers

  • Waterproof, windproof raincoat with a hood

  • Sunhat and sunglasses.

  • Firm, comfortable footwear

  • Jandals of course!
